My usual style of work is very bright and airy, soft and warm, but sometimes the situation calls for something a little moodier.
Such was the case last weekend when, for the 3rd straight week in a row, the skies were under constant threat of rain. Weather like this changes images because there’s so much water vapor in the air. Photos can loose their vibrancy, warmth, or contrast, depending on the light.
By the time we made it out to Chappel Hill Lavender Farm in Washington, Texas, the air was thick and heavy and the light was almost completely gone. The clouds were low and the skies were dark and grey. But Oleg drove all the way from Austin, so the show must go on!
Irina can’t take a bad photograph, and this is now the 4th time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing her. She and Oleg were the perfect choice for this session.
The dress is a $120 gown from Amazon (it’s part of my studio’s wardrobe and is available to any of my clients to use in their sessions), and the flowers are from Blushing Blooms in Kemah.
Photographers and Brides- if you’re looking for a gorgeous venue it’s worth a drive to Washington Texas for a hill country vibe. The lavender wasn’t blooming, but the venue is gorgeous from every angle.
