MacKinsey and Andrew were one of the first couples I photographed after moving to Houston last year. We did a sunrise engagement session at Pine Gully Park and met up at the Kemah Boardwalk for an evening session, mainly because I was using them as guinea pigs to get to know the area. They were good sports and up for exploring with me! They rode the carousel, played with bubbles, and posed under the Ferris wheel. Getting to know them has been such a treat. They’re both easy going, and just genuinely good people. MacKinsey is like the anti-bridezilla.
Their wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Lyceum in Galveston and I absolutely love that whole area, which has an old-world vibe. It reminds me so much of my hometown in Georgia.
We battled wind and mist and dark, dreary skies, as well as a missing veil, but it was a lovely ceremony. Andrew sweetly teared up when his bride walked down the aisle, and MacKinsey’s first look with her dad was equally emotional.
Everyone danced to classics like “Shout” and “YMCA” and the couple had an awesome candy bar!
Following their sparkler exit (which we somehow managed to pull off even with the mist and wind!) the bride and groom were carried away from their wedding on a horse-drawn carriage. It was the perfect exit!
