I took one look at Codi’s wedding dress and squealed with delight! It was a show-stopper, with soft layers of blue tulle and a simple, white lace bodice, and it looked amazing on her. Of course, a potato sack would look amazing on her.
Girl Codi and Boy Cody (how cute is it that they have the same name?) were married in July at Beneath the Oaks, on a bright, sunny day, under the shade of giant oak trees. Cody couldn’t hold back tears when he saw Codi walking towards him. His reaction is what every girl hopes for.
After spending so much time with them between their engagement session and wedding day, it is clear to me that these two people really love each other.
There were so many beautiful details. Her bridesmaids dresses may even be my all-time favorites, and I loved the bouquets. The long ribbons made them that much more special.
After the ceremony, the guests participated in a Grand March, a tradition that was new to me, but really fun to photograph. The newlyweds and their families lined up outside and led the guests throughout the venue, singing and dancing along the way, and ended in the guests holding up their arms while everyone ran under them. After first dances, toasts, and several slices of cake and cookies, guests danced to a mixture of live country music and a dance playlist. Amando, Codi’s Man of Honor singing and dancing to Lady Gaga’s Poker Face was hilarious. This crowd knew how to party.
The Codi’s shared a romantic private last dance under the string lights hanging from the oak trees before ending the night in a sparkler send off.
Codi and Cody, I am so happy for the two of you. I hope you’re both as happy in your marriage as I am in mine.
