Ever since my first trip to Enchanted Rock in Fredericksberg, Texas last November I’ve been dreaming of doing a styled shoot there. It’s such an amazing location with endless possibilities. We just needed the perfect team to help put it together.
The talented duo at Whimsical Events was the perfect fit! Karli and Melanie are so creative and innovative and a lot of fun to work with. They created a vibrant color scheme with tons of textures, layers, and whimsical elements- like kumquats! They designed and created all of the decor, the table set up, the dreamy boho lounge area, the flowers, bouquet, and potted plants. They brought so many amazing details and styled them to perfection.
We shot with real-life couple Chloe and William. If you’ve been following our blog you may recognize them from January’s shoot at Pedernales Falls. Their chemistry is electric and they’re a pleasure to photograph. Neither has a single bad angle. It’s kind of not fair. And William is such a gentleman.
We knew the drive would be long (ehem, 5 hours), that it would be hot and humid, and the trek up the mountain would test our quads and calves, but one thing we weren’t prepared for was the wind! Oh my goodness, it made shooting the details and table set ups particularly challenging, because the moment we had it perfectly styled, a gust of wind blew the items over. What you can’t see from the images are the florist, Melanie, and my assistant crouched behind the table cloth holding onto the centerpiece and catching flyaway kumquats and flowers. We definitely had to get creative and work as a team!
