Last weekend Steven and I photographed the wedding of Hannah and Steven at the Spring’s Magnolia Manor in Houston, Texas and it was an inspiring and emotional day. Hannah is probably one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. She’s like Barbie, minus all the pink. She has stunning features and a mega-watt smile that’s as warm and genuine as it is bright.
We photographed Hannah and Steven’s engagement session at their wedding venue just a few short months ago, in the dead of winter, on an overcast day. There’s a willow tree (or at least, I think it’s a willow tree, so let’s just call it a willow tree) that I was so excited about because I LOVE shooting through light leaves and using them to make photos look dreamy. On the day of their engagement shoot the tree was bare, but the gardens were lush and green on Hannah and Steven’s wedding day and my little photographer’s brain was working in overload to take full advantage of such a gorgeous venue and sweet couple.
There were so many tender moments from their day, including Hannah’s first look with her father, Steven’s expression when he see’s Hannah for the first time (his reaction is what every bride hopes for) and the hug he gives her father when he gives her away. But one of the sweetest moments from their wedding was after their sand ceremony. Faith is very important to the couple, so even though he was excited and one hundred pair of eyes were on them, Steven took the time to lead his bride in a quiet prayer. They didn’t forget, through the sparkle and excitement that weddings often create, that their marriage would stand on a foundation of faith. So often weddings are just about the dress, the flowers, the ring, that many couples lose sight of the endgame: growing in life together.
My hubby Steven was my second photographer that day and, while I normally don’t include his (or my second shooter’s) images in the blog post, today I have to! I am in love with so many of his images. My guy killed it. He’s been shooting with me for a few years but in the last year he has done amazing work. I couldn’t do my job without him. He wears so many hats on the wedding day, from second shooter, part time coordinator, people herder, reflector holder, carrier of all the heavy things (including, sometimes, ME). I am lucky to have such an amazing partner in my business and in life.
Hannah, if your Steven is even a fraction as good to you as my Steven is to me I know you’ll be a happy woman! Steven and I are so happy for you!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pitts!!!
Seriously Amy, you bring me to tears, you are such a beautiful person and your photos portray that. The way you and Steven take ownership and pride in your work and go the extra mile to take images that capture every moment and the beauty inside of it, is breath taking we cannot thank you enough. You stand above the rest, because your heart is in it and you artistically manipulate and premeditate each photo and your execution is on point! You make me genuinely smile! I could not have chosen a better photographer for the biggest day in our life. Thank you for being warm and welcoming, but also communicating what you needed us to do well! Thank you so so so much on behalf of Steven and I! ❤️
