Ok, I know I’m going to tear up writing this. Yep, it’s already happening.
But these are tears of joy because two of my favorite people in the world are getting MARRIED and I am so overjoyed with love and happiness for them that I can hardly contain myself!
I met Jessy through a friend/client several years ago in one of those moments in life where all the stars align. I was looking for a special kind of someone that would fill my position as photographer Ken Krakow’s assistant and Jessy had a passion for photography. I knew that this job with Ken could change her life and help her become a professional photographer, just as it did for me, but Jessy was in college in another city and she didn’t know me from Eve. So, all I had to do was convince her that I wasn’t a total psycho and move 100+ miles away from her home and take a chance at turning a hobby into a career. Easy peasy.
Jessy knew what she wanted, and she’s the ballsy kind of broad that doesn’t just sit around and wait for something good to happen. She took one giant leap of faith into the unknown and is now one of Macon’s premier photographers! Her work is everywhere.
Watching her learn and grow as a photographer has been so inspiring, but it’s Jessy’s friendship, love, and compassion that have changed my life for the better. She has weathered many storms with me, including the loss of one of our parents, she’s guided and stood by me through many unknowns and helped me polish off more than our fair share of pinot noir :-). She was even my first guinea pig when I had the crazy idea to make tulle skirts and photograph girls dancing and twirling in construction zones (a shoot for which she earned her nickname Little Bird).
But, if there were any man in the world that was good enough for Jessy, it is certainly Colin. He’s enigmatic and artistic, supportive and loyal, and he has an amazing family. He’s just good people. Jessy deserves that. Just to give you an idea of how perfect he is, before he proposed he made sure that Jessy has a fresh manicure, was pampered, and he even set up a camera to capture the proposal! Plus, he has amazing hair. Our group of friends is cooler because of Colin.
I’ve watched them come together and I’ve watched them fall in love. It’s so exciting to know that they pick each other.
Guys, I love you both and I’ve been rooting for you for so long now. I am so happy for you and I can’t wait to be a part of your wedding day.
