One of the coolest aspects of being a wedding photographer is getting to participate in styled shoots. This is where wedding vendors such as a photographer, florist, planner, and bar service can come together and create new ideas and designs and work together and showcase their work.

So when I started dreaming of this Terra Cotta concept I knew we needed an All Star team. Rochelle at R&J Events was such an amazing planner to work with and really went above and beyond to grow and expand on this fun idea. Terra Cotta as a wedding design isn’t exactly something you see everyday, and she incorporated elements that were both natural and modern at the same time. I love what she created.

We brought in Rasheed & Carlesha Sidney from Pour Me Perfection to create custom cocktails. “Our design element for the Terracotta design shoot was based on matching the color profile as well as capturing the elements of the season. We used homemade pomegranate and watermelon syrup in our Pomegranate Cosmo, and the Watermelon Mint Spritz, because both fruits are in season and have a beautiful hue for our season based terracotta colored cocktails. We also used a homemade rose syrup in our Tropical Rose cocktail, to give the flavor profile an overall floral feel. For the Rose’ Spritz, we garnished the glass with edible pink and cream colored roses, along with our rose syrup to create the perfect summer time champagne cocktail. Finally, with our Grapefruit Royale, we used fresh grapefruit juice, along with other fresh ingredients to capture the color profile and the perfect flavor profile to also fit the season. Overall with the Terracotta color and season in mind, we paired the colors with the perfect taste for ANY wedding party to enjoy!“

Y’all, we all tried the cocktails and they were delicious! My favorite was the Grapefruit Royale. I prefer non-sweet drinks especially when it’s 100 degrees outside, and that drink was light, crisp, and refreshing.

Choosing the venue was the biggest hurdle, but once we found Prospect House it was a no-brainer. This unique venue, located in Dripping Springs, Texas has an industrial vibe with lots and lots of natural light. The view in front of the ceremony altar was so perfect. The classic white walls and concrete floors really helped make the bright oranges and blues pop.
