Last Saturday I had the honor of photographing Haley and Chad’s wedding and I woke up this morning SO EXCITED to finally share her bridal portraits. I’m just in love with them.
And, for me, it was a reminder of why it’s so important to do bridals before the wedding. We had so much fun Saturday, we had an easy going wedding party, a great wedding planner, and a well thought-out timeline. And one of the reasons there was so little stress on her big day was because we knew we already had these beautiful images of her in her dress. Anything else we got was just icing on the cake. Haley could relax and be in the moment, surrounded by her family and friends.
Unlike on the wedding day, when we’re lucky if we can squeeze in 5 minutes for a quick portrait session, during a dedicated bridal shoot we can take our time, get a mixture of posed and candid images from a variety of angles. We can take our time to get the train to lay just right, smooth out any bumps or wrinkles, tuck away stray hairs, and get warmed up in front of the camera, all without worrying about guests seeing the bride before her entrance or the heat ruining hair and makeup before the ceremony.
We can choose a location like the Oak Atelier that is PERFECT for such an occasion and have a relaxed hour to just have fun!
If you can’t tell, I’m a huge proponent of bridal sessions. I wish every bride would do them. ð
Haley’s bridals were even more special because, due to the pandemic, several important women in her life weren’t able to make it to the wedding. So we did a sort of first look with them out in the Willow Greenhouse, followed by group pictures. It was a way for her loved ones to be a part of her wedding, to see her in her gown, to show how much they love her, without risking their health. In these trying times, I want to do everything I can to make your entire wedding experience a joyful one.
So enough of me talking, now onto the pretty pictures of this beautiful lady! Chad’s a lucky guy.
